Subject: Report to be submitted by the Classification Societies and other Recognized
Organizations in case of a mayor Casualty |

- Reference is made to Resolution No. 614-232-ALCN dated 25 April 1980 which establishes that, at the request of the Directorate General of Consular and Maritime Affairs, in case of a casualty involving Panamanian flag vessels, the authorized organizations shall cooperate with the Directorate of Consular and Maritime Affairs, New York Representative Office, in any casualty investigation and shall provide any pertinent information about the vessel which may be requested in the course of the investigation.
- In the event of a major casualty and specially in the case of founderings and where loss of life is involved, the authorized organizations and other recognized organizations shall also provide the New York Office with the following:
- A report of the last survey carried out by the organization's surveyor(s).
- A report of the last drydocking survey.
- A report of the last special survey if any taken on the vessel.
